PENETACOST / RUTH
The Book of Ruth is read an Shavuoth, the season of the giving of the Torah, when Israel, like Ruth, chose of its own free will to accept the Law of God, regardless of the trails and sacrifices such acceptance would entail. “The Penta Teuch” by Samson Raphael Hirsch
We also on this day have received the example of the baptism (immersion) into the Holy Ghost, with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Acts 2:1-4
Many people are sealed but not everyone is filled.
Ruth 1 Naomi, Ruth’s mother in law, loses her husband and sons. Verse 13 “the hand of Yahuweh is gone out against me.” Ruth will not leave her mother-in-law, being widowed has little hope but poverty and death. Verse 22 and they came to Bethlehem in the beginning of the barley harvest.
